Country music legend Dolly Parton has announced a delay to her long-anticipated Las Vegas residency, citing ongoing health concerns that require medical attention.
Originally scheduled for December 2025, the six-night run at Caesars Palace has now been pushed to September 2026, as the 79-year-old icon prepares to undergo a series of procedures advised by her doctors. While the specifics of her condition remain private, Parton reassured fans that this pause is temporary — and necessary.
In a heartfelt message shared on social media, Parton explained that while she’ll continue working from her home base in Nashville, she needs time to fully prepare for the kind of performance her fans expect and deserve. Candid as ever, she joked about needing a “100,000-mile checkup,” though she made it clear this isn’t the usual cosmetic tune-up.
Parton emphasized that she’s not stepping away from the spotlight, but simply taking the time to recharge. “God hasn’t told me to stop,” she said, adding that this moment feels more like a divine nudge to slow down — not a farewell.
The delay follows a recent wave of personal and health challenges for the singer. Just weeks ago, she revealed that a kidney stone had led to an infection, forcing her to cancel a planned appearance at Dollywood. And earlier this year, she faced the devastating loss of her husband, Carl Dean, who passed away in March after more than six decades of marriage.
Despite these setbacks, Parton remains committed to her many creative and philanthropic projects. Later this year, she is slated to receive the Jean Hersholt Humanitarian Award, an honorary Oscar recognizing her lifelong dedication to charity and public service.
Fans holding tickets for the original Vegas dates can use them for the rescheduled shows or request a refund, per the announcement. As always, Dolly left her audience with warmth, humor, and gratitude — promising that when she returns to the stage, she’ll be ready to shine.
